Students have made a fantastic start to Semester 2, showing great enthusiasm and motivation following their well deserved break.
At the moment….
Grade 6 French are learning how to talk about the places one can visit and the activities that one can do in Paris. So far we have looked at famous sights and places of interest, as well as typical tourist activities. This week we will be imagining that we are going to visit Paris and will be using a future tense to explain what we are going to eat while there.
Spanish A are learning how to talk about what they do in a typical day. So far we have looked at: telling the time, our daily routine and the lessons that we have on a school day. We have also looked at how to use sequencing words to organise our ideas. This week we will be learning about places in school.
Spanish C are learning how to talk about what they do on holiday. So far we have looked at countries we might visit and they activities we enjoy or dislike when on holiday, as well as how to explain what we did on a holiday in the past. Students have also researched a Spanish speaking country to discover what it would be like to go there on holiday. This week we will be learning how to describe and book holiday accommodation.
Au revoir! / ¡Hasta luego!
The Christmas break is almost here and students are working hard to demonstrate what they have learned during Unit 2 in the end of unit assessments. In this final week before the break…
…students in French 6 are writing descriptions of themselves and their friends and will be taking part in a group conversation where they will give their opinions on people.
…students in Spanish A are giving detailed written and oral descriptions of their families and their homes.
…students in Spanish C are writing and talking about what their life was like when they were little, using the imperfect tense.
It has been a very busy quarter and students have worked hard to get through their units. Everyone deserves a relaxing and fun break!
¡Feliz Navidad! and Joyeux Noël!
A big welcome to all of my French 6, Spanish A and Spanish C students! I’m very excited about spending lots of active, fun-filled lessons with you all this year. This is the place where we’ll share some of the fantastic work you do. It will also be a great place to find links to websites you can use to practise your Spanish or French. Remember, lesson resources can be found in the shared Google folder for your class. Information for parents (such as course outlines) can also be found here on the blog.
Students have already made a great start on the first units of the year and over the last week or so have been learning…
(French 6) …. how to describe their homes.
(Spanish A) …. how to introduce themselves, greet others and communicate in the classroom.
(Spanish C) …. how to talk about the foods they eat and why they may or may not be healthy.
¡Hasta luego! / A plus tard!
